My reading of the article's first few 'graphs which is all I could bother about, is that an attempt is being made to hitch the consequence of social inequities before the causes of failed policies.
IOW, rrrraaaaacccccciiiiiissssssstttttttt.
Guess the ripple I caused has faded, but I'll toss another anyway. The prob with John Birch, Alex Jones, somewhat Beck, is what they're right about that really matters. By association, those who talk about the real enemy agenda can always be dismissed as nuts. Somebody (last ONT?) mentioned bringing something up and a girl said, OMG you watch Fox! That's how it works. Yet as someone said upthread, if you told "reasonable, non-nut" folk a few years ago about what has already happened, they'd call you a nut.
I subscribe to Jones's YouTube channel and frequently often occasionally watch reports. He's a hoot. The other day, on the road, he spent 5 minutes with camera aimed at warning signs on a cell tower. See? High-powered investigative journalism!

LSM = LameStream Media was popular. Didn't Sarah use that? I've been pushing for LaughingStock Media for many moons now. Same acronym, better mileage.
"The good life includes suffering as well as contentment" is a tough sell when immediate pain is defined as bad and ready pleasure as good. Rugged self-control, exertion, endurance, these are painful things.
If you look only at present pain and pleasure, there is no satisfaction that endures, no lure for betterment. If you look to the soul and the future, the ache from exertion is self-satisfying, the inch forward today is enjoyable, those painful little brats are a pleasure. The term for such reward is long. Ain' nobody got time f'r that.

Toward the end of Quantum Leap, whazisname the leaping dude, the later captain of the Enterprise, leaps into Lee Oswald, but can't stop the assassination of JFK. Managed to change history, though, in a way that was kind-of a nice touch for sf.
