Boston Globe? How much? We've got some extra cash and are looking to expand our traditional media presence.

"...Rope and lampposts; some assembly required." -Captain Hate at February 21, 2013 07:28 AM

I worry when I see this in posts.

I mean...

do they still even make lampposts with sticking-out arms anymore?

Sturdy oaks are your friend.

I thank thee, Techlord Maetenloch, for releasing my IP from the dungeon. May I not tempt the barrel and always take my CommenTourette's medication. Per request, I've shipped the ten dozen Count Chocula marshmallow treats and the collector's copy of Big'n's (autographed by Ed "Al Bundy" O'Neill and actually held by Al in that episode of Married with Children that has Ed "Kookie" Burns, Fred Willard, and Anthrax). You'll accept Pony Express collect, right?

I tried to read the post. Really. But it was ... so lonnng! I got confused. And then there were all those comments! They were just words! Reading is harrrd.

From Twain's Conn. Yankee
Nominal wages vs purchasing price:
"It isn't what sum you get, it's how much you can buy with it, that's the important thing..."

Arguing with low-information serfs:
"But if you will believe me, he merely looked surprised, that is all! He didn't grasp the situation at all.... I could have shot him, from sheer vexation."

For decades, I watched the creeping Big Brotherism of the War on Some Substances, and decried that supposedly conservative Constitutionalists supported modern Prohibition while gulping beer and toking stogies, while the loonies were all pro-pot. Even Mark Levin can be an idiot on this issue. That's just bass-jackwards. Oh, goodness! Now the same incremental, illogical, tyrannical methods are being used to criminalize guns. WHAT a surprise. WHAT a shock! HOW did government GET so intrusive? First, we let them come for the potheads....

Extended rant from Jul/2011 linked in nic, if you need more.

update: white stuff continues falling. cats are freaked.

'Way back in the early 70s when I might have been in college, an acquaintance asked me to walk her across campus one night. As we talked about trust, threats, and self-defense, suddenly out of nowhere, she produces a foot-long hatpin. That, to me at the time, was a nasty looking bit of weaponry. Sure, it's not a gun, but it beats nothing. Extra concealable, too!

What is this stange white stuff sprinkling out of the sky?
Is this anthropogenetically modified climate asteroid ash? Contrail residue? Ew! It's cold. And wet!

Victoria Vetri ... oh, no. Another pubescent fantasy ruined. Closing eyes, trying to unsee/unread and be back watching that ST:TOS episode for the first time. Teri Garr playing Goldi Hawn's Laugh-In bubblehead... So wanted to see that as a spinoff...

If, theoretically, a person seemed to be banned at the IP where the desktop lives, and if this theoretical person couldn't change IPs like the lucky Mr. Alu Fods, and theoretically, one wrote Ace weeks ago as instructed to no effect, and theoretically, one was now told to email Maetenloch, what would Maet's email address be? Theoretically? And why am I caught in the spam filters at Moonbattery, too? {big cell-typed frowny face}
