Just passing through. No time to say goodbye hello I'm etc.

Miss me yet?

My cousin's kid has been a perfect angel in all his videos... but I see he's growing up. :D

Angry, do not make me. Like me, you would not.

Goober is Gone. Once shot Matt Dillon on "Gunsmoke."

I don't know why I say goodbye you say hello?

(Just starting to get caught up on the week's PoliNation. Funny thing about how fast net stuff stacks up when I try to get some real-life work done.)

I don't get it, Chrissy. Are you trying to suggest there's some kind of systematic pattern here? I'm sure it's all just coincidental. Like finding out they were all Rotarians, or something, y'know?

You know what's fun? Spending a couple of hours making something work really well, look just like you want, on a website, and then finding that every other page of the website now has nothing showing. Just when you think you've achieved something and can quit for the night, you have to undo everything before you can go to bed. And by you I mean me of course. Insert scowly face here.

Hello. Goodbye. Don't forget to right.

Time to drag myself away from this fascinating little swauree. Have a good Sunday, all.

I know Truman North went to bed already, but this is for him and his new job. Or maybe for those who hate their jobs.

Good night, gracies.

toenailed testes... oof! I've learned to scoot my feet 'way over to my side of the bed when Mrs Scissortoes Webworker gets in bed. Now I'll make sure to move other vital parts as well.

378 I feel fortunate anyone wants the job, frankly.

Asbestos-kevlar skin required for the job. 'Twas for these reasons, because I like her, when Palin un-declared, I was so very glad for her and her family's sake!

"He fucked up less than Gore or Kerry would have..."

Y'think?!? How many times my wife and I have been move to thank heaven again that we didn't have Gore as President on 9/11. Or Kerry. Ever. One of my most joyous days was Bush's inauguration, knowing that you would, to say the least, never find out he was in a closet with an intern. Policies? Highly debatable. Character? Him & Laura, lots of it.

I Did 111 MPH 'To Go Have Sex'

I do remember that one time in the ol' 1970 fastback Mustang Mach I, opening it up, hurtling down the turnpike. Fortunately, when the nice highway patrol officer appraised me that I had been exceeding the speed limit, it was after I had it back down under a hundred.

As I recall, she turned me down, but I did get to open up the stang like never before or never again.

Um.. wait. I thought I made that up.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

"And it was made by a single church in Memphis!! I had no clue from watching it that it was an indie." Reminds me of Fireproof (2008) Website iMDB -- I'd like to watch it again, but it was painfully powerful and impressively portrayed.

The ubiquity of videotech and Internet spells the end of Television as we knew it. I haven't had a TV, no tuner, no antenna, cable, or dish, in years. The creativity available online is astonishing and bountiful. In similar fashion, the dominance of theaters by Hollywood is being eroded by the independent producers. Movies aren't really dead. They're just morphing.

There's a significantly different spirit behind some of these new indies. In the iMDB trivia for Fireproof: "Kirk Cameron, a Christian evangelist, refuses to kiss any woman other than his wife. ...filmmakers had to dress Cameron's real-life wife... as the wife character... and shoot the kissing scene in shadow." Notably, it says, "distributor Samuel Goldwyn's highest grossing movie-to-date." And in this article about the making of Fireproof: "During my time on set in November 2007, I had the opportunity to get to know some of the cast and crew and experience their passion for making films that glorify God. Below, they tell their own stories. Their love for Christ was contagious on set."

I'm sure I read something very similar about the making of [insert latest big Hollywood movie].

"I feel very conflicted when I encounter a gluten-intolerant person." Heh.

Fanatics confuse the issues. True gluten-intolerant folks don't need to project their problems on you. But it is a problem. Like salt, peanuts, or MSG, gluten is everywhere, added for its glue-iness, mostly. That's the same factor that supposedly debilitates intestinal celia in those who are susceptible.

I'm old enough to remember when everything was heavily salted. A generation of food naziism later, it got so you couldn't taste anything in a restaurant. Works for me, since I just grab the salt shaker and add as much as I want, but such changes should percolate from expressed customer preference, and food providers' response, not Big Nan! I feel bad for all the people who think they have to "watch their salt intake" when they are probably not getting enough! Mark Twain: Beware of reading health books; you may die of a mistpring.

So, the Mrs was really gluten-intol. She baked such great wheat breads & everything, too! This was before we could get glu-free bread in the local grocery like today. What could we do? We had to make major changes. Since she's the world's greatest cook, we just had great non-gluten breads & everything. And she'd sneak her own bread into restaurants and relatives' dinner tables.

We not only adjusted, we found right away that we liked her non-gluten baking better, generally, than wheat (YMMV). Wheat is to the universe of flours as iceberg lettuce is to the universe of vegetables.

So the upshot is, you all have to eat exactly as we do just so that we can go out to eat and confidently order pasta and bread, knowing it's gluten-free. Say what? Whattaya mean, you don't have any salt here?

(Actually, we still avoid baking with wheat, but the doc says she's cured of the g-i blues. Therein lies a story.)

Another long drive-by commenting dump. I'm missing all the fun! Darn that real life....

Good night.

Oh, trippy, doood. Love their hair! And folks, if you didn't make it to the end, you really missed ... it was like, like, 2001: A Space Oddity, y'know?

Sedalia Mo., 1973?, walking into the only giant rock festival I ever attended. Outside, every form of local constable lined up, city, county, high-po, all grim and armed, keeping the peace. But just inside the gate, not a cop in sight. Just a long, long row of free-marketeers. I suppose for some folks, that's just your everyday neighborhood, but it was a jolt to me.

Being impressed with the free market of it all quickly faded as I walked down the line of stoned, filthy, mumbling marketeers hawking all kinds of weed, pills, and powders. Most looked like they'd consumed too much of their own product. Wouldn't touch those goods on a dare. One after another... no, no thanks, especially no... Until the last guy, the very last guy, clear-eyed, and clearly barking like PT Barnum himself, "LSD! Right here! Get your blotter LSD! Buy twelve and get one free!" Now, I ask you, as a discerning consumer, from whom would you buy? The market works!

Good, clean blotter, actually... so my friends reported. :D

Pardon a drive-by commenting. Since I'd mentioned him last night...

Ol' Shep's rallying was -- I might have guessed as often as I've seen it -- that burst of strength before the light goes out. I checked on him at about 5am, tried to make him comfortable, and by 7am he was gone.

Wandered up on the farm and into our family in the autumn of 2000. Blind in one eye, arctic fur in a sweltering clime, and couldn't learn sic 'em from c'mere. But a sweetheart, got along with all the other dogs and cats and kids. Kept trying to bite car tires, though.

Second dog we've lost. Biggest grave we've ever had to dig in our little pet cemetary. All our kids, a cousin, a friend, the Mrs, me, and the one cat who always comes to burials attended. So long, good guy.

Good night folks. Long and surely interesting[/] week ahead.
