While writing my previous comment, I could just smell a new post up. Knew it.
Since I teased about my 95yo mom still watching TV, let me clarify that she does NOT have some fuzzy mid-20th Century tube TV set with bent rabbit ears, with tinfoil.
Thanks to the advice and assistance of grandkids, she has a ginormous flat screen a family room full of people can enjoy - with a gazillion cable channels.
And, AFAIK, she mostly watches sports (golf, tennis, select college basketball games), classic series (e.g. Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith) and movies.
She probably does watch the local news, too - mostly for the weather.
(I can only pray I even get to her age, much less still as sharp-witted and mobile!)
iforgot: Does anyone have a guess as to why Trump's television ad buys for October so far are zero?...
Television? Wow, I remember tellyvision! I guess some people still watch that. My 95yo mom does, I know. She still has a phone land line, too.
Which do you think would be more effective and efficient use of advertising dollars - Trump buying commercials during the Democratic Party Propaganda Hours known as news, or during the Communism and Perversion entertainment programming?
Wandering cautiously into the political waters (which are as pure as that Rio Olympic swimming pool)...
I'm not a grand Trumpster, but I'm always amused to see him annoy all the right (wrong) people. And compared to Shrillery, I'd wear a "MAGA" hat anytime. Here's some viewing that impressed me, despite my deep political cynicism.

I did say it's my last weekend being sixty-three, right? We can do this again on Monday.

Dang it. Longer comment lost. Lucky youse.
Grammie #116: Yeah, I do remember thinking being 64 seemed a long way off. I was a grown-up not-quite 16 when Sgt Peppers struck. The 21st Century seemed like the distant future, and here it is almost 16% gone already.

Honestly, Mom, my friends are good people who just have weird names.
Also grammie winger, who will still feed me. Nice.
and Tami, who advised "Drink now...avoid the rush." I think I'll put that off until after the pets are fed.
Also... Vera, Chuck, and Dave.
Sadzly, no grandkids yet. (Save one, miscarried.) But I've insisted my children, should they ever have kids, not name them Vera, Chuck,
and Dave!
Now, off to feed the pets before they start feeding on me.
This is my last weekend of

Seriously, who among us first heard this song and thought, that's impossibly old. Way way off in the future. Nothing to do with me. And yet, here we are.
Just a thought... we use a spoon to dish out the cat food...

I think I clicked through to every weird news story.
• A statement from Ms Peel said: 'They did not care about how this would affect me. I would definitely say this has changed my life, I will never have the confidence I once did.' Says the woman who smashed a robber's head into an ATM three times and fended off their theft. Mrs. Peel from the Avengers (Brit not Marvel) I'd say. She should have moar confidence!
• DUI popping the beer in front of the cop also had no license. Always go all-out, Morons. She should've been naked, too.
• Aaaand... "...nurse waved me into the surgery room.... Once I was inside the surgery room, the nurse told me to take off my pants and lie down on the bed. At the time, I was a little doubtful, but I thought that this would make me just like my wife giving birth. So I took my pants off."
A little doubtful??? Was he hoping to get some (while his wife was giving birth!) or just really, reallllly stupid?
