Palpatine #234: Sacred and profane love. One of each, to go, please. ....

Only sold as a set. Because, haha, they're one gal.

Profane while dating.

Sacred after marriage.

sven10077: Trigglypuff is a Pokey Man reset....

Oh, okay, then.

Um...

What does "reset" mean in this context. Never mind. I really don't care.

...looks like a refugee from "The Far Side"...

Heh.

Howdy, y'all.

Can anyone tell me, what is the origin of the "Trigglypuff" moniker? I think I read it's a variation on the name of some video game character (Pokemon?) but if so I would have no idea.

And as for the upper classic porno artwork...

Cherub: "I found Waldo. He drowned."

cthulhu: ...At certain times, it becomes optimal to triple the size of such box, label everything, and assign every wire out to an appropriate breaker......then hide the expense under "landscaping". Because boards are far more liable to question "fix spaghetti wiring" than "seasonal landscaping".

No doubt. For my Chicago building, that "certain time" was long before I got there. Fifteen years later when we left, it was, at least, no worse.

I can't seem to get into the poly-tickle wrangles tonight, so I think I'll hit the hay.

Just cut hay by the way yesterday. Not baled yet. Fragrant after drying in the 100° heat. Smells of summer.

Good night, Gracies.

Chuck C, back at #310: ...the "electrician" had used small Hills Brothers coffee cans. Instead of electrical tape or caps - clear packing tape... Needless to say, I didn't change the light fixtures

Yeah, just put the fixtures back up... and back away slowly, praying...

Reminds me of the other best electrical story from that 1910 building in Chicago.

When I first took over managing it, I opened up a long connector box in the basement. Spaghetti and snakes, tightly packed. Wiring nightmare. I closed the box and prayed I never had to deal with it. Although we did about everything else to the place, from furnace to roof, we never had to get into that.

I know this comment isn't quite on-topic with all the political wrangling. Consider it the comic relief moment amidst the screaming.

The house we live in was built of poured concrete. I figure the "older" part was built some time in the late teens or early twenties of the last century. The wiring was all two-line, run in conduit.

The "newer" part was added on in the mid-1930s in an entirely different style, heavy-duty Romex throughout.

It was easy to pull and replace the conduit with new three-line wiring. The Romex... still trying to figure out what to do about that.

_/\_

Favorite rewiring story: Chicago apartment building, built around 1910, remodeling in the mid-1980s. We removed a light fixture in the ceiling and... smelled gas. They had run the wiring through the old gas lighting pipes! Just a residual whiff, not connected to gas anymore, but kinda hair-raising for a moment.

Okay, so I looked back at a few comments... looks like there's a flame skirmish going on.

Since we're all seriousy, I suppose I won't chatter about watching Yellow Submarine tonight.

Anyway, it's tired and I'm late.

Plunging right in without first taking the temperament of the ongoing thread...

Howdy, folks.

Disney, not satisfied with making live-action remakes of their classic animated features, is going full-bore feminitzi with...

...a sequel to Mary Poppins with Meryl Streep as Mary's cousin (ack ack)

...a sequel to one of the most perfect movies of all time, The Rocketeer, with a multi-gal set of Rockettes... I mean, Rocketeers (croak, cringe)

...and...

...a remake of Splash "with a twist" - Channing Tatum as a Merman (weep, gnash, grind teeth)

(If you'd asked me, I would've said someone named Channing was a gal. Must be thinking Carol.)

I don't often call for SMOD, but maybe at least a SMODlet could strike Hollywood? Soon, please?

"The problem is that we know exactly what we are going to get from Hillary Clinton, and it is a very, very bad thing." That's the seemingly inescapable decisive point.

Friend Sefton rightly notes that one election will not turn the tide, but it may be a beginning.

Why Voting for Donald Trump Is a Morally Good Choice by Wayne Grudem at Town Hall is a pretty good comparison of the two candidates and the likely consequences of the election of one or the other, in a context of civic moral duty.

"Menalia Trump like you've never seen her before" ... except I had, since The Web had those around for a while before the Post ran 'em. Is this supposed to turn the Post-reading morally outraged Christian voter against Trump or something? I don't get it. She even looks tasteful nude!

BTW, long after those alleged Mama Stanley pix were passed around on The Web, I read "somewhere" that they aren't really of her. I don't know what's true, but I suggest the grain of salt approach on those.

You know what could really affect the vote? Nudes of potential First Lady Bill Clinton. Yeewwww....

Well... I'm back, but have to go.

Although I lurks a lot, lately, I haven't had a lot of time for diving in and participating significantly. Sorta feels like watching the horde partying through a window, y'all be warm and clinking glasses inside, me shivering, standing barefoot in the snow outside. Uphill both ways.

Offline life has had its moments though.

Good night, Gracies.

BCochran1981: Time.

Sure, sure, wise guy. But that just begs the question. I could'a said, how long to you have to wait to know if it's no or not yet.
