Backing out, waving good-bye, I stumbled into the barrel.

Seamus Muldoon: Maybe I'll leave too.

All right. It's a movement!

Everybody who's leaving, join us here at this table.

Muldoon's buying the next round.

Meh. That kegger is warm and flat.

So, I'm bugging out. I've had it. I'm done with this place.

As soon as I find my sunglasses...

Ptthhh. Those donuts were stale, man.

Okay, I'm going now for real. This is me, leaving. Good-bye cruel horde.

Wait, is there still beer in that keg?

I've decided I'm not getting enough attention.

So I'm going to quit the blog.

* hangs out "Going Out of Business" banner *

I'm leaving. Don't try to stop me. This is it.

Wait, are there any donuts left on the buffet?

Clicked the Megan Fox article. I want compensation for my one minute and blown brain cell.

Haunting Last Photos of 21 People Taken Before They Died

Some more "haunting" than others. They saved the hauntingest 'til last, though. Hadn't seen Ali in many years. That was... sad.

I'm pretty sure all we need to do to make football socially acceptable and politically correct is to have mixed-gender teams... and make it all non-contact. Oh, and play continues until it's a tie so no team has feelzbads. Problem solved!

Howdy, nightcrawlers.

Great.

There goes the neighborhood. (Stampeding over a cliff.)

Apropos of somebody maybe:

Back in the CompuServe days, on Religion Forum, there was a disruptive fellow from a Christian-ish sect. He was tolerated for a long time, many thought too long. Nobody cared if he promulgated his own theology. But, he couldn't resist jumping deeply into practically every discussion with his "you're wrong, I'm right" hustling. There were others of his sect who were not so pushy. Wasn't the sect; it was him.

Some time after he was banned from Religion Forum, I ran across him in some computer-specific or gamer forum (I forget which) and saw him holding forth in an ordinary, personable way.

Funny how people have their froth-at-the-mouth trigger subjects but can otherwise seem balanced and sociable.

(Which reminds me: family reunion coming up this weekend. Oboy!)

I'm stunned that no one seems to have linked to the classic Far Side cartoon:

This painting is of the now-extinct giant American Lemming herd, depicting brave AmerIndians who desperately tried to prevent their suicidal mass leap over the cliff.

And I clicked the safe space link but had muted the speakers first. Mwah ha haah.

cthulhu #285: Any hints as to content?

redc1c4 #289: he was wrong...
again

red: close, but I got off pretty light this time.

Cthu: Well, mr. nosy-nosy - would be hard to summarize, the way conversations can encompass long-standing schemas and threads.

Guess I'd say, 'twas about - trying to be considerate of the wishes of others is fine in and of itself, but not at the expense of figuring out, and sticking to, what we want to do. Something like that.

Ways of listening and being heard in full and acting in unity.

Did I mention the great meatloaf she made today? That was the important part.

Think I'll wrap it up for the night, fellow clowns and mimes. Tomorrow is More of the Same Only Different, and I wouldn't want to miss that!

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.

Just back from a relatively short Serious Talk with the spouse. Went well enough, certainly better than many. But, wow, relationshipping can be hard. And we've been at this for over four decades now. Well, practice makes perfeck.

cthulhu: "In order to improve your user experience," it sends a copy of everything you do to Microsoft. The EULA says that Microsoft can monetize any information they collect from you for any reason.....

Not to ignore the good advice about going Linux and all, but...

Somewhere in my bookmarks, I have saved some instructions, pages linked by good folks on here, about turning off all the spyware in Win10. Don't ask me to look it up at the moment, but supposedly so someone said. Assuming those worked, and...

If I don't use their business ware or videoplayer or any other MS software (except Notepad and Calculator), as I've done all along for years, what are the chances of defeating W10 from actually collecting anything from me?

Asking for a friend...!

Don't you think that we should also have weekly stats on who gets the most "firsts"? Maet will get right on that, I'm sure, 'cause it's such a great suggestion.

Mirite or mirite?

Hey, y'all remember back in the old days, long time ago, when someone would put up an open thread for overnight discussion. I forget what they were called, but they were fun.

Good times, good times. They oughta start doing those again.
