All common law marriages are legal marriages

Not mad. Frustrated. As in what part of married legally was I unclear about. If I was SHOUTING, it's'cause it's too much hassle to do bracket italics on this cell.

Admittedly, Oklahoma's requirements are unusual if not unique, but all common law marriages are legal marriages. Sad that's not better understood. The keyword is common LAW.

As the Mrs was just saying, we married each other. We needed no State approval or registration. We still appreciate that it was just a contract with each other. And God, of course. As I wrote in the article I linked, it can be tricky, if it comes to divorce, if you didn't make it publicly clear you were married, and one party lies about it. That will never be a problem for us, though. If our marriage survived the fires of the past 33 years, I think we're solid. Plus, we're too lazy, and old, to break up.
