I'm no theologian, but I think that there is an ample amount of evidence to show that allah is NOT the same entity as the God of Abraham.

Get two believers together, you'll have at least three ideas about God. (Joke borrowed freely from Judaism.)

That there is one God over all doesn't mean anyone has a monopoly or an exclusive. There certainly aren't dueling gods, Jehovah vs Allah, like Zeus vs Odin in some Jack Kirby comic.

You could safely say that what Muhammad taught about God and what Judeo-Christianity taught about God don't have much overlap except monotheism.
