I Missed Many of the First Episodes
I've mentioned this before. I'm mentioning it again.
The premiere episode of Lost in Space looked promising, and pretty good for TV Sci-Fi of the day. By the 2nd episode, it devolved into cheap and cheesy campy shtick.

The next fall, TV Guide, discussing the upcoming season's new shows, described something called Star Trek as being like Lost in Space. Consequently, not wanting a repeat of my disappointment, I missed many of the first episodes. Imagine how I felt when I finally caught a Trek!
Learned something about not trusting TV Guide reviewers, though.
Out of nowhere came a man with a miraculous message.
