How terribly, devastatingly unfortunate that this, so concisely stated, is so true. Immigrants were, by and large, the most loyal and patriotic of Americans, required to be more knowledgeable about our systems of government than most natural-borns. Seeing the group oaths still thrills me. Ones I've known are so proud to be citizens, and I am glad to have them here.
