Short & Tall Tales

It's what every songsmith wishes to write. Or is it? An old quasi-political crooning.

Love's Lost and Found

Life is too short, even if you know you're going to live forever.

1.
           Abm Gm Eb
There's no time to say "I love you."
         Gm
Wouldn't be in ten thousand years!
          Abm Gm Eb
There are too many thoughts, feelings, and dreams,
       Db
And so quick! before time disappears....
2.
          Abm Gm Eb
There's a time and a place for ev'rything,
       Gm
And in all of our time to be,
    Abm Gm Eb
The place doesn't really matter as long
   Db
As space contains you and me.
3.
          Abm Gm Eb
And we're both gonna live forever,
      Gm
And eventually know what's true.
            Abm Gm Eb
But through all of eternity-infinite,
           Abm Gm Eb
There's no time to say, "I love you."

           Abm Gm Eb

Short & Tall Tales

Oh, I hope we're not late!

1.
     F Gm
O! I hope we're not late for the theater
     Bb F
O! I hope we're not late for the bar
                                 Bb
O! I hope we're not late for the restaurant
    F C F
But if we are, we are.
2.
     F Gm
O! I hope we don't get in a car wreck
     Bb F
O! I hope we're not stopped by the fuzz
                               Bb
O! I hope that our car doesn't run out of gas
    F C F
But if it does, it does.
3.
     F Gm
O! I hope we weren't....
     Bb F
O! I hope we weren't....
                                 Bb
O! I hope we weren't....
    F C F
But if we were, we were.
