Yeah, to paraphrase the old slogan, you don't have to be Muslim to be a suicidal mass-murderer.

Finally got some food and got the coffee going. Still waiting for the sun.

Says here it's 43°F and "feels like" 36. It does. GoodDog went out, looked around, and decided he could hold it 'til later. He's getting old; at the in-between age where he's hesitant to go out in the not-really-that-cold, but not so old yet that he can't hold it. I sympathize.

"...posts that several people put up yesterday"

I don't know what-all was posted yesterday. All the Muz-convert mentions I've seen, though, traced back to the same site.

As I posted Friday night, Dymphna on Gates of Vienna (who I'm sure would not hesitate to mention the Muz connection if there is one) wrote, "And that is what led to my frustrated #ShowMeTheImam".

BTW, Vic, re: "What about the muzzie connection?"

Aside from that one German source labeled a hate blog by someone on here, there really doesn't seem to be any. You haven't seen anything else, I presume.

"They" may be covering up for Moohamhead, but I'm presuming this one can be blamed on Paxil (whatever meds psycho pilot was on, or off of).

Vic: "A crotchety old man."

Hah! First Bing pic that came up was a geezer in long johns and cowboy boots in a rocking chair. Almost perfect, but I never imagined you with long hair.

Vic, appreciate the news & views, as ever, thanks.

Hey, Vic, if this blog had avatars, what would you choose for yours?

There really was no deep significance to be attached to this superficial and spontaneous outburst of popular enthusiasm. This welcome, although it was joyous and sincere, did not betoken any real or deep-seated conviction in the hearts of this festive multitude. These same crowds were equally as willing quickly to reject Jesus later on this week when the Sanhedrin once took a firm and decided stand against him, and when they became disillusioned -- when they realized that Jesus was not going to establish the kingdom in accordance with their long-cherished expectations.

But the whole city was mightily stirred up, insomuch that everyone asked, "Who is this man?" And the multitude answered, "This is the prophet of Galilee, Jesus of Nazareth."

Oldsailors Poet: "Don't forget the Adams Apple."

Hey, Hi, OSP.

I almost added the Adam's Apple, but opted instead for the 5 o'clock shadow. Now I'm glad I left you the window.

Spider-Man. Spider-Woman.
Superman. Supergirl.
Batman. Batgirl. Batwoman.
Besides bat-dog, super-horse, and spider-car.

Thor-powers have also been granted to an alien (Beta Ray Bill) and even, IIRC, a frog. So, female counterparts are common enough, no biggie. It's really just mostly a copyright thing. If Marvel didn't do She-Hulk, somebody else might. DC had Wonder Woman, but Marvel grabbed Wonder Man.

However, after reading the pages in the linked article...

Oh.

Ick.

"Male Wonder Woman" is pretty funny idea, though. I see a transvestite with big boobs and a 5 o'clock shadow.

Um...

The Mrs. has often mentioned how, when she and her siblings would watch some show on TV, her dad would confidently predict the villain or the plot twist. His kids were amazed.

Of course, it was just that he'd seen it all before.

Heh. When you talk about WW having multiple costumes, I envision Lynda Carter, spinning around, and suddenly she's in the regular costume, or the diving suit, and maybe there was some other one I've forgotten.

Envisioning Lynda Carter is not a bad thing! Thanks.

O-kay, then. I'll be taking a li'l ol' break from commenting on PoliNation. For a while. To think.

So, Happy Palm Sunday tomorrow, and a Blessed Easter in case I'm not back by then.

So some lefties say Repubs love Israel more than they love America. Somebody here references this with "we're all Jews now." Commenters reply, eg, won't give up bacon. Somebody comments about making good potato pancakes. I mumble aloud, "Mmm. Potato pancakes." I go in the kitchen, Milaldy is looking in a cookbook and says, "I have just enough eggs for my potato pancake recipe!"

Thank you, Horde.

Racist? Not my call this morning.

However, not to kill the joke with explanation, but FTR, I believe the implication in the image is that he was sat on, not $#a+ out.

Bluebird: "I don’t know about you, but for me things like that happen once in a blue moon in alternate leap years, if then."

Not long after Milady and I got together, we ran into the father of a friend of mine at a local breakfast place, and he invited us to sit with him and his latest bubble-headed spouse.

That was one other time (of, as you noted, so few) that questions of faith came up unexpectedly and I was called upon to be an evangel. In the course of things, the man said he couldn't believe in a Deity who sat there on his big throne, with the big book, and if you ever do one thing wrong, it's the fiery place for you. (Usually, when folks tell me about the God they don't believe in, I have to say, I wouldn't believe in that God either.)

The man may or may not have been Jewish in heritage. I know he was Romanian. And he had the numbers tattooed on his arm. Arrived in America after the war with the clothes he had on and $10. Built up an electronics business that was quite successful (although he kept losing his franchises to his ex's).

From having talked with his son, my age, I knew that the dad was generous to a fault with his daughter, but for gifts he would give his sons, basically, a new work shirt. I could appreciate what he was trying to do (I presume), raising his sons to make their own way from scratch as he had. But his sons didn't appreciate that as much. So, I knew him to be a good father, in his own mind, in his own way.

I tried to build on that by saying, you know, there was a fellow who taught that God is not just a mighty and unforgiving judge, but a loving parent who is strict, but forgiving. Something like that; I was speaking from my own readings and understandings, but as with the cabbie I felt I was somewhat inSpired. (As you said, managed to think of it in time instead of later.)

His bimbette wife sat there with a look like a deer in the headlights; the conversation was completely beyond her, it seemed. But in the end, what he said to me was, "I'll think about that [mindful], I really will." It was that last bit that amazed me. He was hardly a thoughtful or reflective type of person, so the whole conversation amazed me, but especially that at the end.

As I said, we plant seeds and move on, and I don't know if that sprouted in his head before he died, but I'd like to think it might have mattered.

Lady in Black: "Since I haven't met one person that wants Jeb Bush, I'd have to throw caution to the wind and say it's pretty bogus...."

This reminds me of Regressives who say they don't know anybody who voted for George Bush (or who voted Republican). Just because they're not in your circle doesn't necessarily mean they aren't out there in droves.

I still can't wrap my mind around the reality that half the nation voted for Gore and again for Kerry, that they voted the vacuous jerk in twice, and that they would ever consider Hillary, much less Lieawatha or (gulp!) Kerry again.

There is no issue as relevant as the enfranchised ignorant in a full-blown democrazy.

Did I just declare that out loud? Sorry. Must be the coffee rumbling.
