Should I

a) post them now on this doomed old ONT holdover?

b) wait for the next open thread?

c) fuhgeddaboutit?

Gene Kelly (precipitation vocalizing)

Barbara Jean Morehead (a.k.a. Barbara Eden)
Wait.. really? Too lazy to check iMDB on cell, but, is she daughter of Agnes in RL? (Diff spellings on Moorehead?)

I need a 2nd cuppa.

I've been too busy lately fighting reality, which hates me btw, to do any webworks, but I squeezed this out today.

I tuned in mid-discussion here, but...

BCochran1981: "The early morning shit is just that, shit. Nothing but vitriol. I've gotten several emails, from regulars, that amount to 'I'm taking your position and boycotting the early threads.'"

WTF? Are we reading the same blog? morning threads are my main AOSHQ time, and I don't feel that way at all. Breakfast with the group.

* srednop *

Does that mean I'm oblivious to it because I'm part of the problem?

Wait. You mean the early early open/news threads, or the topical day threads (by when I usually have to move on)?

The con artist and the robber

The virus and the Succubus

Zealots and prophets,
misguided and false,

But no one can fracture
your mind and your heart

Well, I apologize if that was the father in the photo. I moved off the page too quickly to assess anything, so I made a bad presumption. Thank you for the correction.

Second, my comment, posted impulsively due to my recollection of that revolting photo, failed to properly acknowledge your good work on the graphic. It was the fragility of that little baby she's holding that most moved me.

I avoid subjecting myself to carnage, if at all possible. I have not watched a beheading video, or any of the Islamist snuff porn. I know well enough what it looks like. But a few days ago I loaded a page which — and I hesitate to even paint a word-picture of it, forgive me — a page which prominently displayed one of these two-legged beasts casually holding up a beheaded little girl, her body in a pretty blue dress like you might see on any little girl in mid-America.

That's the picture on the left. I mean, glad you didn't use it. But that's the picture which contrasts more effectively with the one on the right.

Toga Party: "Sometimes, when reading circular firing squad threads like this one...."

???????

I, for one, appreciate the thoughtful discussion this has brought out about the potential candidates.

I must've missed any "circular firing squad" comments. Did anyone else perceive such?

Deja whew! We've been here before.

OMG It's Come to This! 2012
2012 may be the most crucial Presidential election in over a century. WHO do the REPUBLICANS offer to help restore Constitutional government? 2012 Mar 8

That was, I think, my first political video.

And since I'm pimping last election's webworks,
Oh, well, guess it's Romney
At least he's not (as much of) a Marxist!

Some resigned bumper stickers. You can buy these bumper stickers at CafePress, too. Just tape over the 2012 with 2016. Lord, I hope I don't have to update them!

Consider: What will the next President (God grant that we survive and have a next President) be facing?

Absolute repeal of Obamacare: Romney? I don't think so.

Dismantling of most of the Alphabet agencies and the legislation by regulation power structure. Who can sell that while doing it rigorously?

Re-establishment of border security and serious return to sensible immigration. This includes a complete re-organization of socialist support systems like minimum wage and welfare, starting with cutting off all non-citizens.

Put Ron Paul in charge of unmaking the Fed Reserve, the only possible use for him.

Restoration of our military, from the command to the material.

Restoration of alliances with our abandoned neighbors, from Israel to Poland to Japan.

An economy which has been gutted, a manufacturing base (taxes!) to be restored, employment to be restored.

Leading the world in destroying IS to the last man. And this will probably be after the next 9/11 type attack, with a few major American cities hit, and possibly a huge refugee and cleanup problem.

And on top of that, we might expect, several raging epidemics, and a natural disaster or two (viz: Icelandic Volcano about to pop, drought).

And remember, even with an allegedly Republican-controlled House and Senate, the Enemy infiltrates every level of government, education, media, and entertainment, and apparently pretty much owns the courts.

Just off the top of my head.

(Looking over what I just listed)

Y-Not: You could've gone with the Happy post!

Philosophically, Cruz, and probably Bolton seem solid. Although I honestly don't know as much about Bolton as I'd like, I like his style. Philosophy is not enough.

For dog who won't let go of a bone-edness, Gowdy.

But would we be assured that Gowdy or Cruz would be replaced by statesmen of equal character if they moved up?

The problem with Perry:

Right now, hands down, the most electable, most experienced with governing, and most like those guys on the dollar bills, and I'm not talking race like TFG was. Presidential. As long as he can stay off the pain meds and Letterman this time. (Could be he can never live down Letterman.)

But, just as GWB was like a release from Hell, after eight years of the rapist and the harridan in the White House, but then GW made some serious unconservative, nearly Nixonian decisions, I would likewise be concerned that Rick has too many vital holes in his conservatism, which could be exploited by the enemy, or into which he will stumble when we need hardcore Constitutionalism.

If I could be persuaded that Perry has tea-partied up heavily,

... was serious not just show-acting on the border, and upgraded his immigration thinking,

...and maybe heard him declare outright he was dead wrong about his pharmacy pals' statewide schoolgirls vaccination program, not to be "bringing up old $#!+",

...then, I'd put Perry FAR out ahead of everybody, in electability and in effectiveness in office.

Perry / Palin 2016 - let the head splodeyness begin!
