It comes on overnight.

And I don't anymore.

"After finishing the Firefly series this summer...." -Lincolntf

I tried this summer, too. I got through the 2nd appearance of that girl, you know, that gets mentioned here often, her. I found I watched each episode with lots of pausing at cringeworthy or contrived turns, and that just kept increasing. Kept meaning to get back to it. But then we started watching Dr Whos, and there's only so many hours in the day for silly crap. Besides AoSHQ, I mean. There's always time for AoSHQ silly crap. uh, I mean...

Before moving along with the day, muh dear frenz, thought I'd share my two most recent vid webworks icymi.

DWS's recent bout of gibberish given the rap treatment, or something. Just a minute. I had fun, anyway.

More soberly, a reworking of vids & pix from Wash DC, Oc 13, linked in nic. Most of the source media I found linked from here that day. Watch past the credits if you watch. 10 precious minutes of your attention.

MW I'm afraid you misattributed, Jarhead is the one who stated a slower march to the camp via the moderates.

"...praising actress Jane Fonda for 'being outspoken on behalf' of her convictions..."

Raised with a certain attitude about patriotic loyalty, I wondered aghast at the time why there were no consequences for Miz Fonda's aid and comfort to the enemy. Today I better understand why. But I'm so old-fash I think treason is a hanging offense. No statute of limitations, either.

Good morning. Morning thread, coffee, and rising sun, I think I'm about awake, finally.

For the love of God does the GOP not grasp a big portion of its base and a huge portion of the people who have left the coalition have a genuine hatred of Leviathan?

A) They don't know.
B) They know, but discount the numbers.
C) They count the numbers but addicts won't quit.
D) People, generally, are nuts.
E) All of the above.

"Would I rather have DC full of RINOs like the old days than Commies like today? I suppose." -mw

MW, that attitude is just going to get you a slower march to the camp. -C Crank

Um, perhaps you mis-apply my statements. Or I misunderstand your reply. Maybe both!

Said it was too early for my brain.

If you mean RINOs is just slower suicide, that was sorta my point. Our long slide into omnipotent Federalism and government tyranny at all levels has been swallowed in sips by those who would be Constitutional conservatives if they knew better. Quaffing the Big Gulp Tyranny is more likely to cause choking.

Quaff - that's my word of the day.

McCain -- I'm glad I live where the RINO-iest problem is Tom Coburn.

Would I rather have DC full of RINOs like the old days than Commies like today? I suppose. Seems to me you inspire more Constitutionalists with a hard tyrant, though, more reflection on the true, limited province of government. I suspect that's why the Most Highs permit this course.

Ow. Too early to think too much.

Mormonism's idea that the risen Jesus appeared to people in the Western Hemisphere has always tickled me. Just always seemed t'me just like something Jesus might do.

I believe sometimes the Spirit tries to coalesce a concept in the mortal mind, and all kinds of imaginary thoughts are generated in consequence. One great truth may be accompanied by much dross. Not saying this about Smith or Mormon, specifically, just...

Maybe it's just that I so like thinking the Master would have reached out, just as he taught, to all the world.

Good morning. Filling time 'til sunrise and new posts. Godwin and ad hominem? Have we been having a serious ONT?

Pepsi throwback (the old fashioned looking cans) = real sugar -shredded chi

'ppreciate the tip, chi, but 1. Pepsi and 2. cans is three strikes for me. As long as I can have my glass bottle soda, I'll keep my glass bottle soda. Period.

But I see someone suggested Americans may keep getting sugary Mexican. For now...

Whulp, I'm being dragged to my cell. Probably for the night. Be back eventually probably.

My son got me into the Mexican sodas, with that health food ingredient, actual sugar. I don't even drink soda much. This will be disappointing news. Except, I'll drink soda less.

Let me get this out of the way (& in yours, whatev):
Myzled by the Prezident
Debbie Wasserman Schultz stumbles over her prepared remarks. Used to uttering gibberish, she forges on unfazed. And becomes a rap star.

Your myslege may, very. And mumble we much.

(For some reason, my old steam-powered computer handled this production on the first run (okay, 2nd) and in a relatively short time. Perhaps it's heard me talking about upgrading.)

Now, I missed a few things back there. What was that last pic? Oh. Right. I heard about the nation that rolled through a stop sign and ended up with a colonoscopy.

Good morning. Gray light in the East. Autumnal weather predicted. Chance of divine intervention in global spiritual crisis is 50%.

It's all about spirit. Every major topic (possibly excepting pointy elbows) is about Reality and its opponents.

True Disciples of the Prince of Deception have the mark of the beast in their shifty eyes and nervous speech and endless body tells.

Mere Followers of the Lie cannot reason effectively, instead responding propagandistically, and their morals and principles are, at best, confused, at worst, non-existent.

It's not about different ideas or reaching across the aisle or getting along. This is the ongoing war in Heaven begun eons ago. No fence-sitting possible.

Truth. Accept no substitutes.

(Gasping for air, wondering how I got up on this stack of soapboxes so early in the day, hitting the floor hard.)

I was raised to have some very serious and sincere ideas about communists. - sven10077

When I was young, I observed that a precious few nuts wanted to get behind the Iron Curtain, while the bodies on the barbed wire at the Berlin Wall testified how mortally desperate many were to get out. That seemed clear. Never had reason to revise that image's lesson, only reinforced (eg N Korea).

During Nam, I understood the protesters against an unfair draft, corporatized warfare, and thoughtless jingoism, but protesting these things got conflated with (or hijacked by) anti-war, pro-Communist, anti-American ideologues. All I could think was, had they not seen the bodies at the wall as I had?

When the slaughter and torture of our abandoned SVN allies inevitably occurred, 'told you so' was awfully cold comfort.

...great grandpa was lucid into his late 90s. -sven10077

Mom is sharp at 93. Dad died at 50. I hope that averages out for me, at worst. So far, I'm more than a decade older than my father got to be. Kind of strange.

Had the honor recently of talking with her and her brother. I've mentioned here that Ed wrote up his memories of sloggiing across wartime Europe, and that he was preparing for the Japanese invasion when the Atomic Gods intervened.

Mom is a lifetime straight-party Republican whose father detested FDR, but she gets her news from Time and NBC. I opened up on a few things I usually don't with her, with Ed there. I usually don't because, it all sounds so tinfoil hat even to those of us who know it's all really happening. Mom turned to her brother and asked, "Have you heard about any of this, Ed?" Ed soberly replied, some of it.

Tyranny always seems to just get more power, Ed observed, then asked me, what hope do you see? Man, coming from him, that tone stunned me.

For the nation, I said, some think we can still restore Constitutionality. Some suggest the states might break apart and form new unions. Or the whole thing may be lost.

But that declaration of independence cannot be put back in the bottle. Humankind will continue to fight the revolutionary war, wherever and with whatever it takes, was the best I could answer.

"Lipton tea and grape nuts...breakfast of champions."

My wife's great aunt is said to have lived on tea and toast. If only she had eaten a healthy diet, she might not have died so young... at ninety-nine.

BiL once said of Anna, when she was a little girl, and they talked about the war... they were talking about the Civil War.
