1st of the month is FSA payday

"I'd like to know why it's legal for any convenience store to accept a SNAP card. Every damn thing in them is 2-3 times more expensive than the grocery store down the street." — Bayou City

Yesterday, I went to Wal-Mart for the first time in many moons. I hit the Trifecta. Saturday, storm coming, and first of month. Two different employees remarked that the major reason for the crowd was, 1st of the month is FSA payday.

And I noticed, those more expensive, upper-shelf items which I hesitate to buy 'cause they're luxury-priced? Cleaned out. Plenty of peanut butter, but no almond butter. Not saying that's entirely the FSA's doing, but, gotta wonder.
