WT heck happened to our airplane thread? -OSP

Augered in. What a term. Not sure I'd heard it before, and looked it up to be sure it's what it sounds like. (Topic drift warning.)

I recently was revisiting videos of 9/11/2001 Pennsylvania. Witnesses expressing astonishment that there were no bodies, so little debris, etc.

My "beliefs" are that what happened on that plane is probably just about what it seems, with the passengers' revolt; also, I wouldn't rule out that somebody might have shot it down, understandably so, and if so, that doesn't change the passengers' heroic efforts.

But what I noticed (again): most plane crashes, pilots were trying to avoid top-speed impacts with full fuel tanks; that day, the MURDING PSYCHOTIC SCUM were giving us the opposite, resulting (most unfortunately) in interesting, unusual studies in airplane physics.

In any case, that thing must've nose-dived at top speed, utter disintegration.

Quite humbling, really.
