Sunflower Butter

Chi: I had never heard of sunflower butter until tonight. Maybe I should get out more often? Sounds good. Just added it (or seeds to make my own) to my grocery list. Thanks.

You're welcome. It's been a progression from peanut butter (I now relegate peanuts to the same not-for-human-consumption category as soybeans) to almond butter to sunflower seed butter. Almond is good, but tasty almonds are expensive.

Sunflower is delicious, but you have to get the kind that are not stale, oil-spoiled, shelled-too-long. Gray and greasy tasting. The worst are often organic etc health food store sunflower nuts, possibly because the turnover is slow. Best is the Wal-Mart bags that seem to be fresh all the time.
