Just because Milady brought it to my attention:
bluebell #270: mww, sounds like I need to dig out my old Joy of Cooking and look for that quote!
For Pi Day, Milady, the reader of the house, ran across something in Joy of Cooking. (Possibly should've gone in the food thread, but, hey, cookbooks are books, right?)
But Milady did make a strawberry pi. Currently still cooling....
All I saw of the post (so far) was BACON!
Sure, lindarising was first in the popular vote...
Given a choice between "hot women and good food" and "good women and hot food"...
Home, praise God, all pets safe and sound. Catching up on comments....
"The young man who learns how to cook well will have
mastered a valuable life skill."
About half a shot of brandy is all we had here.
Milady says, oh, bought rum the other day but left it in town.
What good is that?
"Nestle has developed a chocolate with less sugar."
Well, that's really astounding... not.
For the Great Chili Debate (beans? carrots?) I offer this recent Arlo & Janis comic:
Now caught up to my second comment at #476... how far behind have I fallen now? And I think I'm reading more slowly as the night wends on.
So, about cooking & cleanup... This is a tough one.
Alberta Oil Peon: Whoever thought that a pig with a soldering iron shoved up its butt was a good idea, even if it was on a clock timer?
Hidey Hoo! Jumping right in as if I knew what was going on...
...I made meatloaf for a second time, and it wasn't bad....
Some comic relief. Five new original songs, somewhere between the weird and the humorous.
Celebrating what makes America great, or some of it.
Six songs of betrayal, lost love, sogginess, and silliness, for your entertainment and enlightenment.
Howdy, basket of deplorables!
Chi, I told you about the sunflower seed butter.
It may be whole wheat or even non-gluten bread, with sunflower seed butter and whole-fruit blueberry sugar-free puree...
Chi: I had never heard of sunflower butter until tonight. Maybe I should get out more often? Sounds good. Just added it (or seeds to make my own) to my grocery list. Thanks.
Random thought as I read upthread:
Is there any hope of salvaging the Internet?
Congress sure isn't going to do it.
Bob: "My options were to a) die or b) learn not to care. Easy choice."
Sadly, some might see that and wonder which was the easy choice!
Another session of songs of love, mirth, and indulgence. Plus bonus cartoon!
Heh. Ever seen the vids of petitions to ban that dangerous chemical? Folks would sign to remove oxygen from the atmosphere, if you did it right!
cthulhu #417: ...Note that the Cavendish hybrid took the top spot after a different fungus killed-off a previous favorite hybrid.
Knock knock. Who's there? Banana.
Why can't they find an old peel from the more-delicious now-"extinct" Cavandish banana and clone them again?
