A man in Sirte, the hometown of the late Libyan dictator Col. Moammar Qaddafi, was executed by the Islamic State for practicing black magic. According to a friend who managed to escape from Sirte, the man’s crime had been to treat patients with acupuncture and homeopathy.

The Slovenian government says that if Germany and Austria continue with tightening border controls, it will suspend the Schengen rules itself. When Vienna imposes limits on the number of migrants that can enter Austria, Slovenia will do the same at its own borders.

And the Jewish Agency in Italy reports that 353 Italian Jews emigrated to Israel last year, which according to some sources is more than 1% of the Jewish population in Italy, while others say 0.1%.
In other news, gunmen wearing turbans attacked a major hotel in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, killing an undetermined number of people and taking hostages. The kinetic activists who staged the attack are reportedly affiliated with Al Qaeda.…
Two “Americans” — two “Virginians”, actually — have been charged with terror offenses for planning a trip to Syria where one of them wanted to fight for the Islamic State. Meanwhile, a former Dutch soldier may face a murder charge for traveling to Syria and joining the coalition against the Islamic State. He reportedly killed an ISIS fighter, which violates Dutch law.
In other news, Germany is planning to build repatriation centers where Algerian and Moroccan asylum seekers will be housed until they are deported. Since Algeria and Morocco are not war zones, their citizens are unlikely to be granted asylum in Germany.…
…On this day in 1967 Albert DeSalvo, AKA the "Boston Strangler", was convicted of numerous crimes and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Oddly enough he was convicted of sex crimes, including rape and murder of one woman, and not all the actual strangler cases. He was sent to a mental hospital where he escaped. After that he was sent to a maximum-security prison where he was stabbed to death.…

Last night, after a LEGIDA walk and demonstration in Leipzig, a group of protesters broke off from the larger demo and attacked businesses owned by immigrants, including kebab shops. The mayor of Leipzig condemned the violence and promised that the perpetrators would be severely prosecuted.
In other news, two patrol boats of the U.S. Navy have been detained by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in the Persian Gulf. Iran said that crewmembers from the vessels would be promptly released.…

A “youth” attacked and wounded a Jewish man with a machete in southern France today. The 15-year-old Kurd shouted “Allahu Akhbar” when he carried out the attack, and said that he did it for the Islamic State. A spokesman for the Islamic community in France said that the incident had nothing to do with Islam, and expressed concern about a possible backlash against Muslims.

A pair of culture-enriching rascals forced their way into a nightclub in Calgary and started shooting. Thanks to the action of two alert bouncers, who struggled with the miscreants and subdued them, no one was killed. One patron was wounded, and is in the hospital, while the alleged perpetrators are in police custody. The incident had a Mohammed Coefficient of 100%.

PEGIDA staged a demonstration in Cologne today to protest the failures of police and public officials in the wake of the Groping Jihad attacks on New Year’s Eve. 1,700 police were on hand to keep order. Tommy Robinson and Michael Mannheimer were among the speakers at the event. Some of the demonstrators — believed by many to be agents provocateurs — wore masks, which was against the rules, and clashed with police. As a result police shut down the event early and used a water cannon against the demonstrators.
In other news, French authorities have decided to make the migrant shanty camp near Calais known as “The Jungle” into a permanent facility. The government has allocated €25 million ($27.2 million) for a shelter with beds for 1,500 people. …
Five Italian teenagers were accosted on the street by Arabs, who lined them up, fired a gun into the air, and demanded to know whether they were Christians or believed in Allah. When the young people said they didn’t believe in anything, the Arabs left.
In other news, Israeli security forces finally tracked down the suspected Tel Aviv New Year’s Day killer in a house in northern Israel. The perp, an Israeli Arab, opened fire when he emerged from the house, and was shot dead by police.…

A number of states will consider bills to reform state asset forfeiture laws during the upcoming legislative session. One special interest group opposing the reform movement shows why so many people call asset forfeiture “policing for profit.”
The Oklahoma bill, along with legislation introduced in other states, would require a criminal conviction before law enforcement and prosecutors can proceed with asset forfeiture. It’s hard to imagine how anybody could oppose such a reform. No person should have their property confiscated if they did not commit a crime. But prosecutors and law enforcement lobbyists in Oklahoma do indeed oppose the reform – passionately. …
