Captain Kangaroo - a quiet friend from my hectic youth. Remembered as one of the good guys. Who got old and ended up looking like.. the Capt did in my youth.
When we were kids, Dad would take us out to the country place (where we now live) to lie out under the stars to watch the Perseids. Forty-five years he's been gone. I sure miss him.
Soccer + 2 other trimesters of req'd sports or gym at my prep school turned an unathletic pudgy 8th Grader into a healthy, confudent Senior. Almost 1/2 century ago.
