cartooning
(Seems another comment of mine didn’t get through. It’s prob’ly not you. It’s me. Or my computer? Let’s say both and try again. Heh.)
A funny thing I finally figured out about Disney cartoons: they're not funny. Not in the way an old Chuck Jones WB cartoon is funny.

The breadth of topics in the book thread always amazes me. But, before I refresh and get more comments...

Of course, this Far Side buffalo cartoon might be more up to current news memes
I'm stunned that no one seems to have linked to the classic Far Side cartoon:
Hrothgar: I went to the telnaes twitter account and she actually posted that cartoon as a gif so the little Cruz "monkeys" are indeed dancing....
Ugh
Hrothgar: Did the monkeys dance?
Ohh. You meant an animated gif.
Hrothgar: Hey at least the WaPo had the good taste not to post this as a GIF on the web version!
For those who missed the cartoon, here's a copy.
They've taken it down.
Looking at the cartoon again, I notice she just did a copy, paste, resize for the smaller monkey.
So, hypocritical, crude, and lazy.
Didn't like giving that a click, but had to see.

Daily, via RSS, except when, like this week, I've been traveling and get a day or two behind as I am at the moment. And I'll add, I always look forward to what you've come up with.
JohninMd: I say again, God DAMN you, Chris Muir, for making me react like my own flesh and blood are in that car…..
Just caught the last 3 days' worth - and glad I didn't see them on-time and have to wait for the next one. Seeing the kid in front of the car was truly scary.
Mama AJ: "If you put a plus sign at the end of the link, it should take you to bitly dot com for a preview. Does that work?"
Yes, thanks.
"On this day in 1956 Lerner and Lowe's musical My Fair Lady began its long time run on Broadway."
Right. That's just what I was thinking. "Nurse."
Morning, Glories! Still Winter!
For those who care about such trivia. The wrinkly face of the two bad guys being rounded up in the last panel tell me this artwork is by the great Basil Wolverton.
The world needs more Ub Iwerks.
Anonymous: Bitter? Um, no; either I di'n't write goodly, or you misread me. The multiple appearances of a gag are all just an extra level of funny to me.
I once did a cartoon involving "Rock, Scissors, Paper," before the invention of Scissors & Paper.
HoboJerk: "I'm reading a comic intro to criminal law..."
As a comics fan, and a wouldabeen cartoonist and animator, I have to rant about the genre's confused vocabulary in English.

Thanks. Cartooning positive religious humor - and actually good humor - no easy task!
Re nothing in particular:
"I find this idiotic cartoon offensive and the lie that goes along with it. Can we sue Democrats? http://tinyurl.com/kc9s8jk" - Vic
Cute. Interestingly, it mis-names the book though. I wonder if that is on purpose? : Mike Hammer
A. Poorly (non) researched / uncaring writing.
